In 2007, the Public Health Agency of Canada identified 36 core competencies considered fundamental to building and maintaining a strong and knowledgeable public health workforce.
Taken together, the Core Competencies for Public Health in Canada form the basis for effective public health practice.
The resources and examples in the Portal resource Public Health Competencies will benefit frontline health workers, administrators, specialists and organizations wishing to develop new skills and/or expand existing expertise.
