Overview

Home–Start works with families who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties and who have at least one child of pre-school age (0-6). These families are offered emotional and practical, non-financial support in their homes by volunteers. The focus is on the reduction of stress levels within families, the enhancement of parental self-esteem, and the improvement of parents’ social relations. Home Start tries to encourage confidence and independence and to help parents build their own networks of friends and other support.
